Re: Politics!, by pat

Is anyone out there as concerned about the upcoming presidential election as I am??? If so, I would really like to dialogue with you.

Some of my concerns are that. . . . our next president will have the opportunity to appoint some supreme court judges. . . .Obama thinks in terms of political socialism, which deeply concerns me. . . .over the past few years, Democrat leaders have negatively portrayed our country and have hurt us worldwide, while blaming the Republican party. . . .people are not thinking for themselves or researching the facts about presidential candidates' positions, but are listening only to the mainstream media for their information and are blindly following their liberal lead. . . . .among other concerns.

Does someone want to talk about my concerns? Hope so! Let's talk!!! Pat

Re: Politics!, by pat

I have thought more about your comments about Obama, Mystery, especially in light of how Obama has conducted himself in more recent weeks. I have serious questions about both his integrity and leadership qualities. I am not sure he is the person to be the president of the free world. What is your current evaluation of him as a presidential candidate?

On the subject of our having to dig deeper, greeneyedgirl. . .I wonder what would happen if those of noticing the media bias would begin sending emails to the network anchors to let them know that we see and hear the political bias? It's a thought. . ."a trip of a thousand miles begins with one step," as the old proverb states. ~Pat

Re: known sex-offender living next door., by greeneyedgirl

I have some thoughts. I think first of all do we ever REALLY know our neighbor??? Many many people have things they hide.
I would be very concerned if a sex-offender lived close by but I don't want to live in fear, nor do I want my children to live in fear. I think we need to be smart, be aware, and teach our children the same things. I truly don't want to judge but I don't think I would be inviting this person over to dinner either.

Obama certainly is a charismatic individual - so intelligent, an excellent communicator. What social issues would you like to see him address, and how? I'm not so sure about his offering us hope, although I know that is his mantra. What type of hope, specifically, do you think he can offer us?

Interesting question, greeneyedgirl. Especially in view of a similar scenario recently in Conestoga, PA. What do you think is the best way to respond??

known sex-offender living next door., by greeneyedgirl

Lets talk people. What do you think? What do you do when you find out your neighbor was a convicted sex-offender. How do you respond?

Re: Politics!, by mystery

i like obama - i think he'll offer us hope that we haven't seen and turn our nation on to social issues for once. i believe he has integrity, leadership and a genuine love for Christ. it's too bad that Rev. Wright gave him such a bad repuation...obama handled it well though by disassociating himself from the Rev.

Re: Politics!, by greeneyedgirl

I had a friend I work with ask me a very interesting question about Barack Obama. She wanted to know if he might be the "anti-christ". I was actually surprised such a question came from this particular person. She doesn't normally get in discussions of this nature. I personally don't think Obama is the anti-christ but it certainly made me look into Revalations a little closer.

I find elections very frustrating BECAUSE of the media's obvious twisting of the truth. I find it hard to know what each candidate is about. I know as a voter I have to dig deeper. I do feel that the democratic primaries and candidates(presidential) have gotten so much media attention that we don't hear much about the republican candidate and his
campaign. -greeneyedgirl

Re: Welcome Message to New Members, by Ann Marie Shaw

Jeremy you've done it again! You're not only good looking you're brilliant.
Hope you can drop in to NVJ Sunday at 9 a.m. and introduce the class to this forum ---the topic for Sunday (along with Star Bucks medium roast) is Silencing the Christians - Series Premiere
Renowned author and commentator Janet Parshall will take us on a journey across the country to meet citizens who have been arrested for speaking out at a public rally, students who are being forced to attend classes that require them to recite verses from the Koran and to stage their own jihad and activists pushing social tolerance to such an extreme that the Bible itself is being labeled “hate speech.” -- it will take up most of the hour so this forum gives a chance for dialogue.
